1. Copyright and Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, audio, graphics, and downloads, is the intellectual property of Thole Therapy unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or adapt any content without written permission. Please don’t lift my words, meditations or materials — I work hard on them.

2. Limitation of Liability

The content on this website is for general information and personal reflection only. Thole Therapy accepts no liability for any loss or damage — direct or indirect — that may arise from using this website or engaging with its content. You are responsible for your own decisions, wellbeing, and actions.

3. Data Protection

I take your privacy seriously. Any personal information you share via contact forms, bookings, or intake processes is:

  • Used solely by Thole Therapy to provide therapeutic services.
  • Stored securely and never sold or shared with third parties for marketing.
  • Retained only as long as necessary for therapeutic, legal, or administrative purposes.

You have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the data I hold about you.
  • Request corrections or deletions (unless required to retain it by law).
  • Withdraw consent at any time, though this may impact your access to services.

To request data access, email: admin@tholetherapy.com

4. Cookies & Analytics

This website may use cookies or basic analytics to understand how visitors use the site. These tools do not identify you personally. You can adjust your browser settings to block cookies if you prefer.

5. Forms and Applications

Any forms filled in on this site — including the client intake form — are submitted via a secure connection. Your data is stored within the encrypted systems of my booking and form software. These services comply with GDPR and are used solely to streamline your care.

6. Cooling Off Period

If you book an appointment or join a program and change your mind, you’re entitled to cancel within 7 days for a full refund — provided the session has not yet taken place or digital content has not been accessed. To request cancellation, email admin@tholetherapy.com

7. Medical Advice Disclaimer

While I am a qualified psychotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist, I am not a medical doctor. Nothing on this website constitutes medical advice. My services are complementary and supportive, not a replacement for conventional medical treatment. Please consult your GP or healthcare provider if you have health concerns.

8. Therapy Confidentiality & Legal Disclosures

At Thole Therapy, your privacy, safety, and trust are paramount. All sessions are treated with the highest level of confidentiality in accordance with UK law, ethical guidelines, and professional standards.

9. Legal & Ethical Exceptions

Confidentiality may be broken only in rare circumstances, such as:

  • Where there is an immediate risk of serious harm to yourself or others
  • When required by law (e.g. terrorism disclosures or court orders)
  • If child safeguarding concerns arise

Wherever possible, we will inform you and seek your consent before taking any action. The aim is always to work collaboratively and with transparency.

10. Your Records & Medical Information

  • Your GP will not be contacted unless you request it.
  • Attending private therapy does not go on your medical records.
  • Letters for GPs or other parties will be discussed and agreed upon with you before being sent.

11. Couples, Families & Young Clients

  • For couples or family therapy, individual sessions may sometimes occur as part of the assessment.
  • Confidentiality is maintained in one-to-one sessions, but issues affecting the wider group (e.g. undisclosed affairs) may need to be addressed collectively.
  • Work with children requires parental consent. All child disclosures are confidential unless the child is deemed at risk.

12. Supervision

As required by professional guidelines, all therapeutic work is reviewed anonymously with a clinical supervisor. This ensures ethical, safe, and reflective practice.

13. Payment & Third Parties

  • Therapy remains confidential even when paid for by a third party (e.g. employer or family member).
  • Administrative details (e.g. attendance or participation) may be shared when necessary for payment processing.

14. Notes, Records & Storage

  • Your records are kept securely and password protected.
  • Identifiable information may be redacted where appropriate.
  • Records are typically retained for 1 year following the end of therapy, after which they are securely deleted unless legally required otherwise.

15. Right to Access

You have the right to access, amend, or request the deletion of your personal data at any time, within legal and ethical boundaries.

16. Complaints

If you have concerns about how your data is handled, please contact me in the first instance at admin@tholetherapy.com. You also have the right to raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk.

17. Self-Harm & Suicidal Feelings

We do not automatically report self-harm or suicidal thoughts unless there is an immediate danger to life. Our focus is on creating a safe, non-judgemental space and working together on more supportive coping strategies.
